Missouri curators meeting to address basketball coach hire

University of Missouri curators are meeting to address the men's basketball coaching opening.

Former UCLA coach Ben Howland and Kim Anderson, a star player and long-time assistant to Norm Stewart for the Tigers, were believed to be finalists.

Frank Haith left for Tulsa earlier this month after three seasons.

Seven of the eight curators had phoned in for the meeting when reporters were ushered outside.

The 56-year-old Howland led UCLA to three straight Final Fours from 2006-08 but was fired last March after an early NCAA tournament exit coupled with personnel problems.

The 58-year-old Anderson won a Division II championship at Central Missouri State this season.
