Senior Quarterback Conrad Schottel earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference Football Player of the Week for offense as the Bulldogs shutout the Quincy (Ill.) Hawks on Saturday 33-0.
Schottel completed 20-of-28 passing attempts for 197 yards with a 10-yard touchdown pass and a one-yard touchdown score on a quarterback sneak in Truman's first GLVC game.
After missing on his first two passes of the day, Schottel completed 16-of-19 the rest of the first half, including a stretch of 10-of-11 in the second quarter in which Truman scored 23 points to put the game away.
He used eight different receivers on the day before leaving the game in the fourth quarter while adding nine rushing yards on four attempts.
He joins Tremaine Millender and Jacob Lamp as previous winners of the weekly GLVC Football awards and is the first Bulldog to garner offensive player of the week honors.
