COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou One squad scored 21 unanswered points to earn a 21-14 win over Tiger Two in the annual Black & Gold scrimmage at Faurot Field on Saturday afternoon in Columbia, Mo.
The Tiger Two squad, primarily made up of reserves, began the game with a 14-0 advantage on the scoreboard, but was unable to hold on as senior QB James Franklin, junior TB Marcus Murphy and the starters tied the game by halftime and watched the reserves score a late touchdown to earn the win.
Franklin hit 9-of-15 passes in his limited playing time and Murphy reeled off 24 yards on consecutive carries to produce the game's first score. The Tiger No. 1 offense moved the football 60 yards on the drive, which saw a six-yard score from Murphy to cap the possession.
