In two briskly paced games in cool temps, the Truman Bulldogs and Lindenwood (Mo.) Lions split an MIAA baseball twinbill on Thursday afternoon.
The Lions scored two runs in the top of the sixth to win the opener 2-1 while Tim Lee stymied the Lions through eight innings to pick up the 4-1 victory in the nightcap.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday as they will open up a three-game set with Northwest Missouri State beginning at 3:00 p.m.
The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon as the schedule was moved up to avoid the potential forecast for Sunday.
Starters Tim Lee and Mark Roberts along with reliever Tyler Spencer kept the hot hitting Lions cool all day holding Lindenwood to a .157 batting average during the doubleheader.
The Lions came into the game with a team average of .314.
Paul Trenhaile extended his hitting streak to 13 straight and went 4-of-7 during the games.
Blake Marino added three more hits while Zak Larkin drove in two runs.

Mike Failoniâ??s double to straight away centerfield tied the opener in the sixth inning and he would score one batter later on a single to right by Mike Wilson that proved to be the game winner.
The two runs spoiled a strong home debut by Mark Roberts on the mound.
Roberts went the distance and allowed just four hits with two strikeouts.
The Bulldogs got their run in the first as Corbin Williams singled, was sacrificed to second and scored on a single that just snuck under the glove of the Lionsâ?? third baseman from Paul Trenhaile.
Truman put the leadoff hitter on in both the sixth and seventh innings but neither could come in to tie the game.
Dylan Terrell won his fourth game for Lindenwood, allowing five hits and striking out four in the process.

Rolls reversed in game two as the Lions took an early 1-0 lead then watched the Bulldogs score single runs in the third, sixth, seventh and eighth innings to win 4-1.
Wade Rothermich scored on a two-out wild pitch to put the Lions up 1-0 but the Bulldogs evened the game as Zak Larkin used the safety squeeze to bring home Adam Bainbridge in the third.
With two outs in the sixth, Trenhaile singled to center then advanced to second on a fielding error.
Blake Marino delivered the clutch hit with a single back up the box to score Trenhaile from second.
In the seventh, Corbin Williams had a two-out double and scored on a single through the left side from Larkin.
Tim Lee was cruising right along until two outs in the eighth.
After fanning the first two hitters, Rothermich hit an opposite field single and the next two reached to load the bases.
Needed the out, Lee got Mike Wilson to groundout to Trenhaile at first to preserve the two run lead.
In the bottom of the eighth, Bainbridge singled up the middle to bring home Trenhaile for an insurance run.
Pinch runner T.J. Wood also tried to score on the play but was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.
Tyler Spencer came on in the ninth and after the leadoff hitter reached via error, Spencer fly out to left, a strikeout looking and a pop to second to pick up his first collegiate save.
