Truman State starts its football season on the road against Drake

The 2014 Truman Football season will get started on the road against the Drake (Iowa) University Bulldogs on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.

Truman was 7-4 last season while Drake opened their campaign last Saturday with a 45-22 loss at home to Grandview (Iowa) the defending NAIA National Champions.

Truman averaged 26.1 points offensive and allowed 20.4 defensively while posting the most season wins since 2001.

The Bulldogs return 45 letterwinners and 16 starters from last year's squad including six all-conference players.

Leading the way is senior running back Garrett White, who rushed for 995 yards last season, the highest rushing total for the team in 10 years and defensive end Nic Abbate, who ranks high on the Truman career lists in sacks and tackles for loss.

They are joined by senior punter Jacob Lamp, senior linebackers Matthew Bell and Connor Nagel and sophomore free safety Austin Zoda.
