For the second time this season, Truman volleyball sophomore outside hitter Allie Brak was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week after the Bulldogsâ?? 2-1 record in action last week.
Brak who earned both MIAA and AVCA National Player of the Week honors on October 8-9, recorded one of the most prolific rally-scoring weeks in Truman history, averaging 5.27 kills and 2.64 digs per set, while hitting .356 for the week.
She opened the trio of matches with a double-double, racking up 18 kills and 10 digs in a four-set victory at Missouri Western.
She then added a 15-kill, seven dig performance in a 3-0 sweep of Missouri Southern on Friday (Nov. 2).
Then, on Saturday (Nov. 3) against 6th-ranked Central Missouri, she had a career-high 25 kills, hit .488, and added a dozen digs for her 15th double-double of 2012.
She leads the MIAA with a 3.82 kills per set average and ranks second on the team at 2.78 digs per set.
Mondayâ??s announcement marked the first time a Bulldog outside hitter earned two MIAA Hitter of the Week honors in a single-season since Sarah Shearman did so in back-to-back weeks in 2006.
After jumping two spots once again in the AVCA top-25 coachesâ?? poll, the now 13th-ranked Bulldogs close out the 2012 regular season this weekend with 7pm matches at Emporia State on Friday (Nov. 9) and Northwest Missouri (Nov. 10).
Saturdayâ??s match has been pushed back one hour due to scheduling circumstances at NWMSU.
