Former Truman State runner finishes 12th at Boston Marathon

Truman Bulldog alumna Danna (Kelly) Herrick finished 12th overall and was the fourth American women to cross the finish line at Monday's Boston Marathon.

Herrick finished the course in a time of 2:34.53 competing for her professional team of Hansons-Brooks.

She was within 13 minutes of race winner Edna Kiplagat and 11 minutes back of top American Jordan Hasay.

Herrick has competed in two USA Olympic Trials Marathons.

As a member of both the Truman Track and Cross Country teams, Kelly finished third in Division II at the 2009 Outdoor Championship in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase and holds the Truman school record in the event with a time of 10:58.78.

She earned all-America honors with a 24th place showing at the DII Cross Country Championships in 2008 while also participating in the 2007 championship race
