The Indian Hills golf team, winners of their last three tournaments, will enter the national tourney next week as the second-ranked team in the country.
The Warriors trail only McLennan CC in the latest NJCAA Division I poll. Odessa CC, a Texas school like McLennan, is third.
The final poll of the spring is used to determine the pairings for the first two rounds of the national championship, slated for May 13-16 at the Spirit Hollow course in Burlington.
That means the top three teams -- McLennan, IHCC and Odessa -- will be matched up in the 18 hole-rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The teams leading the final spring ratings, coincidentally, finished in the top three spots in the NJCAA DI National Championship Preview meet last October at Spirit Hollow.
Odessa won the Preview by two strokes over McLennan with the Warriors third, seven shots behind Odessa.
IHCC had three golfers in the top ten in that meet. George Trujillo was 5th, Colin Pearson tied for 7th and Luke Monson tied for 9th.
A three-meet winning streak gives the Warriors some definite momentum going into the national tourney.
Indian Hills has captured the Augustana Invitational, the Blueboy Invite and the District III title in their last three starts.
