The Iowa Wesleyan College softball team defeated their future conference opponent, MacMurray College, twice on Tuesday in Jacksonville, Ill.
The Tigers, who will join the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) next year, beat the Highlanders 6-4 and 8-0.
Ayla Serrano (3-2) picked up the win on the mound in game one.
Serrano allowed just two hits (both solo home runs), struck out 9, and walked one.
Tory Beaver went 3-for-4 in game one, including a triple.
Sarah Voss was 2-for-4 from the plate with a double and two RBI's in the game.
Kristine Becks also had a hot bat as she went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.
In game two, Sonja Holmes (4-2) picked up the win in her second straight shut out from the mound.
Holmes allowed five hits and struck out six Highlanders in the win.
Serrano had a big game at the plate as she went 3-for-4 including a bases loaded double that drove in three.
Beaver continued her strong day at the plate as she was 2-for-4 in game two, including a three-run homer.
The wins move IWC to 9-9 on the season.
They also move Head Coach Mike Hampton closer to a big milestone as he picks up wins number 1197 and 1198 in 49 seasons of coaching.
