Truman State baseball signs four
Head Coach Dan Davis has signed four players during the November signing period for the class of 2014.
They include Chris Beckman, Nathanael Lukas, Jon Lyons and Brendan Trimble.
Nathanael Lukas (6-4, 210 L/L)
Grafton, Wisc. (Grafton High School)
Lukas was an honorable mention all-state selection and a first-team all-conference pick following his junior year last spring.
He was a team captain, earned the squad's Gold Glove Award and was named best teammate.
For his career, he has pitched in 30 games with 13 complete, 112 strikeouts, 34 walks and a 2.53 ERA in 167 innings pitched.
He is the son of Tony and Nancy Lukas.
Jon Lyons (5-10, 180, R/R)
Lincoln, Neb. (Lincoln East HS)
As a varsity starter over the past two seasons, Lyons has hit .297 with a .423 on-base percentage.
He has also been a football team captain twice.
Lyons has been named to the Academic All-State and Academic All-Conference teams for both baseball and football and is a three-time Lincoln Public Schools Scholar Athlete Award winner.
He is the son of Chad and Kris Lyons.
Brendan Trimble (6-1, 190, L/R)
O'Fallon, Mo. (Francis Howell High School)
Third Base/First Base
Trimble has hit over .400 the past two high school seasons as a member of the state champion Francis Howell ball club.
He hit .431 with a .494 on-base percentage as a sophomore and upped his mark to .436 and .537 this past spring.
He was named to the all-conference second team and was a first team all-district selection.
In 2012, Trimble was a first team all-star in the American Legion league after hitting .500 with a .585 on-base and a .678 slugging percentage.
Trimble earned the Gateway Athletic Conference all-Academic award and is the son of Rick Trimble and Cathy Watson.
Chris Beckmann (6-3, 220, R/L)
Wentzville, Mo. (Francis Howell High School)
Beckmann has been a part of two straight state championship teams at Francis Howell and posted a 3-1 record in 23 innings pitched with a 2.37 ERA in six games last season.
On his summer team, the St. Louis Sting, he tossed 28 innings with a 1.29 ERA.
He is a three-time letterwinner in baseball entering his senior season and has also lettered in football.
In addition, Beckman is a three-time all-conference all-academic team member. He is the son of Gene and Stephanie Beckmann.
