The Truman softball team was ranked 10th in the first set of NCAA-II Central region rankings, announced late Wednesday evening by the NCAA.
The Bulldogs are one of five MIAA teams listed in the top-10. The Bulldogs (21-13) join top-ranked Fort Hays (Kan.) State, fourth-ranked Central Oklahoma, No. 8 Missouri Western and No. 9 Emporia (Kan.) State as MIAA representatives in the first poll, while four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams and one Great American Conference program round out the top-10. The top eight teams in the region will be selected to the NCAA-II tournament on May 6, with new regional polls being unveiled each of the next two Wednesdays (April 24, May 1). Truman has five doubleheaders remaining in the regular season, beginning this Friday with three straight days of home action against Northeastern (Okla.)
