The Truman softball team picked up a conference road sweep of Lincoln (Mo.) on Wednesday evening in the capital city, downing the Blue Tigers 6-1 and 10-5 behind a dominating output by the Bulldog bats.
Kelsey Bollman totaled seven hits, including a pair of doubles, to pace a Truman (18-8, 6-4 MIAA) attack that pounced on Blue Tiger pitching to the tune of a .424 batting average and four home runs in the two games.
Cate Simon (O'Fallon, Mo., Fort Zumwalt South) and Liz Leath added four hits each, while the Bulldog pitching staff made the offensive bombardment hold up by holding LU (10-11-1, 2-6 MIAA) to just a combined .189 batting average.
Truman returns to the field this Saturday and Sunday by traveling to Southwest Baptist and Central Missouri.

The Bulldogs used a big third inning to get on the board and put separation between themselves and the Blue Tigers, as Truman scored five runs en route to a 6-1 decision. Corey Niblett (Troy, Mo., Troy Buchanan) and Bollman reached to start the inning before Andrea Klipsch delivered a three-run home run to straight away center for a 3-0 lead.
Then, two batters later, Kristin Grossmanadded a solo shot to right-center, before Simon came around three batters later on a Lincoln miscue for the 5th run of the inning.
Truman and Lincoln would each add one in the seventh, with the Bulldogs?? tally coming on a Leath bomb to center.
Hannah Washburn) (11-3) tossed six innings of shutout ball, striking out seven, before Kirsten Krause finished the game by pitching the seventh inning.

Continuing the trend of game one, big innings propelled Truman to a Wednesday sweep, as the Bulldogs scored three in both the second and third innings before adding four runs of insurance in the sixth to take a 10-5 win in game two.
Meredith Kusky got the scoreboard operator moving in the second, knocking an RBI single before Bollman added a two-run RBI double later in the inning.
Then, in the third, Ally McReynolds delivered a three-run home run to left, plating Leath and Grossman for a 6-0 Bulldog lead.
However, the Blue Tigers would claw back, scoring five in the home half of the third ?? including two unearned runs ?? but the Bulldogs put the game on ice in the sixth with a Klipsch sacrifice fly, a Leath RBI single, a double steal resulting in Leath coming home, and a Simon single to right for the 10-5 final.
Bollman recorded a four-hit game from the leadoff spot, with Leath and McReynolds adding three hits apiece. Kindra Henze (3-4) dealt a complete game, striking out eight Blue Tigers and giving up just the three earned runs.
