Truman State tennis falls to Drury

The Drury (Mo.) Panthers both ranked nationally and atop their respective Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional rankings, handed the Truman Tennis teams Great Lakes Conference defeats on Friday.

The men were shutout 9-0 and the women lost 8-1. The teams return to action in Kansas City on Saturday against Rockhurst (Mo.).

Women's Recap: Lauren Jin grabbed the only team point for the women in their 8-1 loss at the hands of No. 21 Drury on Friday.

Jin defeated Laua Mueller 6-4, 6-4 at the number two singles slot.

Jin improves to 8-1 on the season and has won seven straight singles matches. Mueller had entered the match with a 10-5 season singles record.

Men's Recap: The Panthers, ranked 12th in the nation and first in the Midwest region, blanked the Bulldog men 9-0.

Jake Ohlhausen and Griffin Smith fell 8-5 in the top doubles match to Andy Blair and Jorge Nadal and Adam King and Ryan Bunselmeyer were doubled up 8-4 by Jakub Sipos and Christian Ibsen.

Blair, ranked 29th nationally in the ITA rankings, defeated Ohlhausen 6-4, 6-1 and the other five singles matches were also decided by straight sets.
