      Truman State tennis falls to Washburn

      The Truman Tennis teams were dealt losses at home on Tuesday to former conference member Washburn (Kan.) University.

      The Ichabods won the men's match 6-3 and took the women's dual 7-2.

      The men return to action on Thursday against Missouri Valley while the women take to the courts Friday against Maryville (Mo.).



      Women's Recap: Jessica Gennuso and Kelsey Porter won number three doubles for Truman's first point of the day.

      They defeated Sophie O'Neill and Nzingha Banks 8-5.



      Marisa Thome won number four singles for the Bulldogs defeating Maria Moral-Carretero 6-3, 6-0 for the other team point.



      The women fall to 3-10 on the season and will wrap-up GLVC action with a 2:00 p.m. dual with Maryville on Friday afternoon.



      Men's Recap: The Truman men led 2-1 following doubles play.

      Adam King and Ryan Bunselmeyer won 8-6 at number two while Griffin Smith and Mike Merchant won a tightly contested third doubles match 9-8 (8-6).



      The Ichabods won five of the six singles matches to take the dual.

      Kirk Schlueter was the only victorious Bulldog at number four defeating Steven Fletcher 6-4, 6-3.



      Truman is now 4-10 on the season.



      Thursday's match against Missouri Valley is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
