Truman State track runs away with All-Academic honors

      The Truman Track & Field teams were recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as an All-Academic team while seniors Karen Grauel, Rachel McCarroll, Dimonique McGruder along with junior Matthew Schaefer honored with individual All-Academic honors.

      The women had a team grade-point average of 3.42 and were one of 92 Division II teams to earn the All-Academic status.

      The men posted a 3.24 GPA which was one of 24 men's teams to earn All-Academic.

      Grauel, McCarroll and McGruder all had over 3.25 GPAs and achieved provisional marks to earn individual All-Academic accolades.

      Grauel won the MIAA Cross Country individual title and then had a provisional qualifying time in the 10,000 meter run.

      McCarroll earned All-America honors and set new Truman records in the indoor weight throw while McGruder had a provisional mark in the Shot Put.

      Schaefer had a provisional mark in the 800 meter run and was one of 210 Division II men's track & field competitors to earn the All-Academic award.
