Truman State University sophomore middle hitter Ali Patterson was selected to the Daktronics all-region first-team, while junior outside hitter Allie Brak was named second-team all-region.
Patterson, who was the only middle hitter listed on the Great Lakes Valley Conference first-team, picked up first-team Daktronics first-team honors during her first full season as a middle hitter at the collegiate level.
She enters the postseason having hit .326 during 34 regular season matches, ranking second on the team in both kills (320/2.50 per set) and points (426.5/3.33 per set) and leading the squad with 132 total blocks. She will advance to the national ballot, with results to be announced next week.
Brak, who was a first-team all-GLVC selection, landed on the Daktronics all-region second-team after averaging 3.71 kills and 2.52 digs per set in 130 regular season sets.
She started all 34 matches and hit .207 on the season, while also handing out a team-best 36 service aces.
The Texas-native is a repeat second-team Daktronics all-region selection after also earning the honor in the Central region last year.
The award, voted on by Sports Information Directors throughout the region, saw only three schools (Grand Valley State, Indianapolis, and Truman) put multiple players on the first- or second-teams.
Truman opens NCAA postseason play on Thursday evening in Allendale, Mich., where they take on weekend-host GVSU at 6:30 pm (CDT).
