Truman State women's golf is eighth at the GLVC Preview

Courtney Cisler led all Truman women's golfers with a two-day 171, and freshman Clare Munie tied both her previous career-low round and career-low tournament, as the Bulldogs took home eighth place in the 2013 GLVC Preview, hosted by Maryville University.

Cisler shot 87 on day one and followed it with an 84 on day two at Annbriar Golf Course to finish tied for 28th in the 50-player field. Munie, meanwhile, cut 12 strokes off her score from day one (93) to day two (81), setting new marks in her low round and low tournament (174) score for the fall season.

Sophomore Kim Barmettler went 88-91 for a two-day 179 and a 39th-place finish, while Olumayomide Coker (91-103---194) and Alex Reiser (95-99---194) shared 42nd place.

For the event, Truman posted a 359 on day one before cutting that number to 355 on day two for a combined 714.

Rockhurst and Southern Indiana both finished with an identical team score of 635, with RU winning the title via tiebreaker. USI's Kaelyn Lingenfelter shot a two-over-par 146 to win medalist honors.

The Bulldogs will next be in action at the UMSL Fall Classic on Oct. 12-13 in Pana, Ill., at Oak Terrace Golf Club

The 2013 Bulldog Classic, originially scheduled for Oct. 13-14, has been canceled.
