Truman State womens golf places fourth in final MIAA Golf Championships

Due to inclement weather, the final round of the 2013 MIAA Golf Championships was canceled early Tuesday morning, resulting in a fourth-place finish for the Truman golf team after just one day of competition.

Since 18 holes were completed Monday at Paradise Pointe Golf Course, the results become official with the Bulldogs carding a 329 in the final event of the 2013 regular season.

Senior Jessica Tomash shot a first-round 80 and finished in 11th place, while teammates Kathryn Hogan (T-17; 82), Kim Barmettler (T-19; 83), Lynn Dreisilker (T-26; 84) and Riley Keltner (T-46; 98) rounded out the five-player squad.

The Bulldogs finished five shots back of third-place Northwest Missouri and two strokes clear of fifth-place Missouri Western.

By default, Central Oklahoma claimed both the team and individual leads, as the Broncho women shot a 301 overall and were led by Aly Seng's first-round 71.

Truman will now await word from the NCAA-II selection committee on April 29 in regards to possible selection to the Super Regional on May 5-7 in St. Joseph, Mo.
