The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars rallied for a 23-22 dual victory over the Truman Bulldogs on Wednesday night in Pershing Arena.
The Cougars got a fall and two major decisions in the final four matches to down the Bulldogs in their final home dual of the season.
Truman will compete in the MIAA Championships on Sunday in Edmond, Okla.
J.J. Dorrell scored a pinfall win in the first match of the night to put Truman up 6-0 but SIUE countered as Patrick Myers pinned Tyler Stanley at 133 to even the bout.
Alex Maus grinded out a 5-4 decision at 141 and Ryan Maus scored a major victory at 165 to put Truman up 13-6.
Colton Schmitz would extend the lead to 16-6 following a 6-2 victory at 157.
Schmitz overpowered Kyle Lowman in the first period with a two-point near fall and rode Lowman the entire second frame.
Truman received a forfeit win at 164 to push the lead to 22-6 however Jake Residori pinned Chase Wrisinger in the first period to mount Cougar comeback.
Derek Nagel won by decision at 184 10-6 and Deshoun White took a major victory at 197 to pull the Cougars to within three team points.
In the final match, David Devine was able to score four takedowns and held Ryan Ward down long enough to get a 12-3 major decision to give the Cougars the 23-22 victory over the Bulldogs.
Truman falls to 6-5 in dual matches while the Cougars improve to 4-13.
