Fairfield and Mount Pleasant headed back to state

For the third straight year, the Fairfield Trojans are headed to Fort Dodge. This is the Trojans sixth overall trip. Mount Pleasant is headed to state for the second time in its history. Its last trip was in 2015.

Class 4A

No. 3 Fairfield 4

Des Moines Hoover 2

Fairfield will be the 2 seed at Fort Dodge taking on 7th seeded and 14th ranked Charles City at 5pm on Tuesday July 18th.

No. 8 Mount Pleasant 7

Xavier, Cedar Rapids 3

Mount Pleasant is now the 5th seed and will take on reigning 4A state champion, 5th ranked and 4th seeded Oskaloosa at 3pm on Tuesday July 18th. The Indians ended the Panthers season in the regional final last year.

Class 5A

No. 11 Ottumwa's season came to an end at No. 1 Waukee.

Ottumwa 0

Ottumwa finishes the season at 26-15.
