Mount Pleasant will face defending 3A champs at state

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - On Wednesday, boys basketball state tournament brackets for all four classes were announced.

The Mount Pleasant Panthers will see a familiar foe in Xavier, Cedar Rapids. Last year the Saints ended the Panthers season on way to a state title.

The two teams met this year to open the season, with Mount Pleasant falling 55-45.

Mount Pleasant's last win against Xavier, CR came during the 2011-12 season. The Panthers opened that year with a 68-65 win over the Saints before going 26-1 and winning its first ever state title.

Mount Pleasant(22-2) comes in as the five seed and Xavier, Cedar Rapids(13-11) the four. Game time will be at 3:45 on Tuesday at Wells Fargo in Des Moines. Of course will be there to provide highlights and reaction.

(2) West Delaware, Manchester(24-0) vs (7) Dallas Center-Grimes(15-9) at 6:35pm

(3) Pella (22-2) vs (6) Sergeant Bluff-Luton(15-9) at 8:15pm.
