Ottumwa bowling girls win fourth state title

For a record fourth time, Ottumwa will be bringing home a state title.

The Ottumwa girls scored a team high 3010 to beat out last year's state champ Waterloo East and their 2989 team total for the title.

It came down to the Baker games. Ottumwa trailed both Waterloo East and Urbandale, but a 1056 score surged OHS to a title.

Jenny Goodman was the individual star. The freshman bowled a 268 in her second game and finished second overall with a two game total of 459.

She was the only Bulldog in the top ten, but Carin Davidson (400), Makayla Martsching (395) and Anna Wetrich (357) were all top 20. Kayla Davidson bowled a two game 343 and McKinna Haines bowled a 295.

For the boys, Ottumwa came in fourth and Urbandale repeated as state champs. OHS finished with a team score of 3056.

Jaxson Coble finished 8th individually with a 437 score. Other Ottumwa finishes were Trinity Frederick (416), Trevor Harp (402), Dawson Greene (384), Tyler Cramblit (379) and Dylan Clark (362).
