Truman State softball home to face Wayne State on Wednesday

After having its GLVC-opening doubleheader at Illinois Springfield on Thursday moved to April because of cold weather, the Truman State University softball team experienced yet another lengthy break away from games. Now, the Bulldogs must play six games in five days this week including a home doubleheader with Wayne State on Wednesday before Rockhurst and William Jewell on the road on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Purple and White were last in action on March 4 for the 2018 home openers against No. 24 Saginaw Valley State. Truman won both games in walk-off fashion thanks to scores of 5-4 in nine innings and 4-3 in seven.

The Bulldogs' offensive attack continues to be led by Christa Reisinger who is hitting .680 (17-for-25) with 16 runs scored, one double, two triples, a home run, four RBI, 25 total bases, a 1.000 slugging percentage, 13 walks, a .795 on-base percentage, and 11 stolen bases in 11 attempts. Ashley Murphy is the team's leader in both home runs and RBI with two and nine, respectively.

In the pitching circle, Alyssa Hajduk (2.62) and Lauren Dale (2.96) both boast sub-three ERA's while Hajduk has 22 strikeouts and an opponent batting average of .255 in 26.2 innings pitched.
