Revival services will be held at First Baptist Church in La Plata, Mo.
Ben Austic, Associate Pastor of Family Ministries at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Kirksville, will be leading the music. The speaker will be Allen Sipe, who has been in ministry for over 30 years. He has also traveled across America with various groups and as a solo concert artist. Services will begin Sunday (April 2) at 10:45 a.m. with a carry-in dinner immediately following. In the Sunday evening service at 6 p.m. Allen will talk about about human trafficking in Missouri. His recent experience with the Missouri Baptist Children's Home has given him a unique perspective on this devastating problem. Teachers and others who work with children and youth are specially invited to attend. Services Monday through Wednesday will be at 7 p.m.

Carousel Productions takes the stage with “Shrek the Musical”
Tickets are now on sale for Carousel Productions’ spring musical, “Shrek the Musical,” a rowdy re-telling of the beloved animated film. Performances for “Shrek” are April 7, 8, 20, 21, 22 at 7:30 p.m. Matinees will be held on April 9 and 22 at 2 p.m. Carousel has added a Saturday matinee on the last weekend to accommodate the expected larger crowds. All performances will be held at the historic Royal Theatre in downtown Macon.

Decoding Dyslexia Iowa invites youth with dyslexia ages 8 and up to an afternoon at the Iowa Children’s Museum
11am - 2pm
The event includes lunch, a program, and free time at the museum. The program will feature adults with dyslexia who will share their experiences and answer questions from the kids. This event is only for youth with dyslexia, and at least one parent must attend. The cost is $5 per child, and all youth who register before April 15th will receive a free dyslexia awareness t-shirt. It is an annual conference that brings together self-advocates, family members, friends, direct support staff, providers, teachers, employers, and professionals to gather information that will support people with disability to be more independent. Whether that is being employed, living independently, married or owning a home. The conference committee seeks out presenters, exhibitors, and self-advocates that promote these topics, so others with disabilities will see anything is possible.
