The Kiwanis Club of Kirksville Farmers’ Market will be open every Saturday morning starting May 6th, 2017 through October 28th, 2017. The Farmers’ Market opens at 7:00 AM and closes at Noon. The market is open to the public and the items available will include fruits, vegetables, plants, baked products, eggs, meats, crafts, and many others. All products are locally grown or produced.

8:30pm The concert precedes the fireworks display from Montrose. The best place to see the fireworks is along the hill on North Wells Street in Nauvoo and that's where the band will be, right across from the Temple. Enjoy the marches of Sousa, Fillmore, songs by Gershwin & Berlin, a salute to and a remembrance of the members of our Armed Services, and a whole lot more. Bring a chair. Bring a friend. Enjoy the concert and the fireworks.

Heartland Pregnancy Center, a non-profit organization, is sponsoring the Great Cardboard Boat Regatta
The money raised during the fundraiser will go toward HPC's Earn While You Learn Parenting Classes.
So what does the Cardboard Boat Regatta involve? You have to build a cardboard boat (strong enough to carry two to 8 people) and race it along a 200 yard course. If your boat stays afloat you may have to compete in a second and third heat.
Only corrugated cardboard, duct tape, wood glue, latex caulking, and outdoor paint is allowed. Polyurethane for a topcoat is optional. No other materials are allowed in the boat building.
FEE: $25 for individuals, families, and youth non-profits (4- H & Scouts). $100 for organizations and businesses.
You can register the morning of the event. Meets at Bonnifield Lake (Waterworks Park) in Fairfield, Iowa. Registration and boat inspection at 9:00 a.m. Race begins at 10:00 a.m.

American Home Finding Ribeye Steak Sandwich Dinner to kick off the 40th Annual Ottumwa Pro Balloon Races.
Jimmy Jones Shelter in Greater Ottumwa Park.
4:30-7pm. The menu includes: Ribeye steak sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, drink and dessert. Cost of the dinner is $10.00.
Community members are invited to either eat at the shelter or drive through and pick up your dinner to go. Entertainment will be provided by the Lowly Brass, an instrumental group that will perform during the dinner.
American Home Finding is a non-profit agency that serves children and families in Southeast Iowa. Tickets will go on sale starting June 1st from any American Home Finding staff member or calling the main office at 641.682.3449. Tickets will also be available at the event
