A northeast Missouri boy was injured in a three-wheeler accident on Sunday afternoon.

It happened at 4 p.m. on Scotland County Road 555 a half-mile north of Memphis.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the ATV was operated by Ayden Hines, 12, of Memphis.

Troopers said the three-wheeler was southbound on County Road 555.

The ATV was not stopping fast enough so Hines attempted to slow the vehicle by putting his foot on the ground.

His foot then got caught between the foot peg and the roadway.

Hines suffered minor injuries and was taken by private auto to Scotland County Hospital in Memphis for treatment.
