Seven thousand rubber ducks raced down Court Street in downtown Ottumwa on Saturday.

It was part of an annual Ottumwa Duck Races fundraiser. Proceeds will support the Ottumwa Boxing Club.

Event participants could go grab a bite to eat from the food trucks and their children could go visit the bounce house.

Free gift cards and food were being given out all morning.

Event organizer Hans Wilz believes the duck races bring the community together.

“Community is the most important thing and enjoy being a part of it," said Wilz. "Be in every event you possibly can. Live music, free food, free gifts, and a duck race. ”

Ottumwa's Duck Races are scheduled to return next year.
