The 5th annual Kirksville Community Christmas dinner will be held in the Student Union Building at Truman State University on Sunday, December 17.

The event is intended for anyone in the Kirksville community to attend.

A tasty meal will be served at 5:00 p.m. and Christmas festivities will follow at 6:00.

Organizers say the event is possible through the generous donations from local businesses, and Heartland residents.

In addition to dinner, Santa will be on hand.

Prizes and gifts will also be awarded throughout the night.

Organizers say 800 to 1,000 people will be in attendance.

Committee member Stachia Vorhees says its one of the best times for fellowship.

“It’s a lot of goodness for the community. It brings everybody together. We don’t ask for what type of income you have or what your family situation is. We just want everybody to come together and have a good meal."
