Ottumwa serial rape suspect to plead guilty Tuesday
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
An Ottumwa, Iowa, man accused of raping several women will enter a plea deal.
According to online court records, Armando Leyva has a plea and sentencing hearing set for Tuesday.
Leyva was arrested in June 2017 and charged with sexually assaulting six different women starting in January.
He is facing eight separate charges, running from First-Degree Kidnapping to misdemeanor assault.
The online docket does not say exactly what charges Leyva will be pleading to or what his sentence might be.
It simply says that Leyva is set to be in court for plea and sentencing hearing at 1:45 p.m.
A conviction on the kidnapping charge could have meant a life sentence for Leyva.
