An afternoon grass fire has left a northeast Missouri corn field charred.

The blaze broke out around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, in a field at the intersection of Hollis Way and Patterson Way.

Those roads are located near the NEMO Fairgrounds in Kirksville.

Crews from multiple departments responded to put out the blaze.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.
