After the deadliest mass shooting on record Sunday night at a country music concert in Las Vegas, many across the United States are searching for ways to help out, namely donating blood.

External Communications Manager for the American Red Cross Jeff Zydio said the day after the incident, Jefferson City, Columbia and St. Louis, Missouri received twice to triple the walk-ins they normally have.

So far, 59 are dead and well over 500 have been injured from the attack.

The shooting comes on the heels of several natural disasters.

Disaster Specialist for the American Red Cross John Dungan says the organzation has been able to donate "250 blood products" to people in Las Vegas.

Dungan points out it's crucial to donate blood before a crisis happens.

"It's critical to have blood supplies on-hand, in the place, on the shelf," Dungan said.

Dungan also said there is no need for blood for Las Vegas, but there is still need for blood in other parts of the Heartland and throughout the country.
