Armed Ottumwa man charged with burglary, domestic abuse

Trinton James Davidson, 22, of Ottumwa/Wapello County Jail

An Ottumwa man is behind bars after entering a short standoff with authorities Tuesday.

Trinton James Davidson, 22, was arrested at around 1 p.m., and charged with First-Degree Burglary, Domestic Abuse, Probation Revocation and Fifth-Degree Theft.

Each charge is stemming from more than one incident reported last month.

On one occasion, online court documents allege Davidson attacked a victim inside their home on South Ransom Street in Ottumwa.

Police Chief Tom McAndrew told KTVO Tuesday, officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at Davidson’s home on North Wapello Street, when he put a knife to his own neck.

Davidson eventually surrendered and was taken to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He is now in custody at the Wapello County Jail.
