Authorities in Ottumwa are investigating a death in Greater Ottumwa Park.

Wapello County Medical Examiner Investigator Mark Hagist told KTVO a kayaker discovered a man's body floating in one of the park's ponds on Saturday afternoon.

The body was found around 12:25 p.m.

Hagist said the man has been identified as Jeremy Raymond, 40, of Ottumwa.

He said there were no obvious signs on the body indicating what may have caused the death.

Raymond's body has been sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny for an autopsy.

Hagist said that would likely be performed on Tuesday.
