Brashear man fatally pinned under car

A tragic accident leaves a northeast Missouri man dead.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. Saturday at a home on Twin Oaks Lane outside Brashear.

Adair County Coroner Brian Noe told KTVO Mathew "Matt" Bleything, 34, of Brashear, was working under a car at his residence.

Noe said Bleything had pulled the front wheel up onto a railroad tie so he could work on the drive shaft.

At some point, the car rolled off of the railroad tie, pinning Bleything under the frame of the vehicle.

Bleything was pronounced dead at the scene. Noe said the incident has been ruled an accident.

His funeral is set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday.

According to his obituary, Bleything is survived by his longtime companion, Heather Longano, as well as three sons and one daughter.
