A two-car crash in Kirksville Wednesday afternoon sent one driver to the hospital with injuries.

It happened just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of Baltimore Street and Rosewood Drive.

Kirksville police told KTVO at the scene that an SUV driven by Kamra DeFries, 39, of Novinger, was eastbound on Rosewood Drive crossing Baltimore when a northbound car on Baltimore failed to stop at a red light.

That car was driven by David Burnett, 79, of Kirksville.

The SUV hit the car in the driver's side in the intersection.

Burnett suffered a cut on his head and was complaining of neck pain.

Emergency crews had to cut him free from his car.

He was taken by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.

DeFries and her 10-year-old daughter were not injured.

Northbound traffic on Baltimore Street was rerouted around the crash for almost half an hour.
