Investigators: Centerville man enters house with full-size ax, threatens residents

Jacob Susin, 39, of Centerville (Appanoose County Jail).

A Centerville man is facing burglary charges after authorities say he entered a residence and threatened to kill the people inside.

Investigators say at 3 a.m. Wednesday, Jacob Anthony Susin, 39, showed up at house in southwest Appanoose County with a full-size ax.

According to the victim’s statement, Susin yelled at the victim to come outside, demanding he return Susin’s belongings. Authorities say Susin then entered the house and began threatening the victim and two other residents in the home, saying he would kill them.

That's when the victim’s wife stepped in. She gave Susin some personal property and convinced him to leave.

Susin was arrested on Thursday.

He’s facing charges of First-Degree Burglary, Assault While Participating in a Felony with No Injuries and Going Armed with Intent.

Susin is currently in custody at the Appanoose County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
