Congresswoman makes last-minute trip to Ottumwa
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, of Hawaii, was scheduled to visit the City of Bridges Monday.
Gabbard traveled to Iowa to assist with midterm election campaigns over the weekend, and decided to make a last-minute trip to Ottumwa Monday night.
The congresswoman was expected to be at the United Auto Workers, local 74 hall on North James Street at 5 p.m.
" We're excited to have some real progressive leaders from the Democratic party here in town,” said UAW, Local 74 President Chris Laursen. “They're interested in hearing what we have to say, and I think it's important for people to show up and voice their opinions."
Laursen added that Gabbard is an outspoken member of congress, especially when it comes to healthcare reform. CLICK HERE to learn more.
