A Kirksville killer is now facing multiple new charges for alleged crimes that happened two months before a triple homicide for which he was convicted this week.

Ray Rijos, 53, of Kirksville, was charged last Friday with 10 crimes: second-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of first-degree harassment, fourth-degree assault and tampering or attempting to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution.

It's in connection with an incident that happened in mid-October 2021 at a home in the 1300 block of East Jefferson Street in Kirksville.

According to court documents, Rijos, armed with a handgun, and a man later identified as Kirksville resident Anquan "AJ" Glover, 23, armed with a knife, forced their way into the residence looking for a man, who wasn't there at the time.

Kirksville police say that Rijos then pulled out a gun and grilled two females at the home about where the man was.

One of the victim's told investigators that Rijos got angry, pointed the gun at the head of one of the females and kept “poking” her with it.

When a third person returned to the home, that man told police Rijos knocked him to the ground, pointed a gun at him and asked him where the man they were looking for was.

Investigators said Rijos and Glover then forced one of the females to drive them to a home a few streets over so they could look for the man there.

The victim told officers that the suspects told her that if she told anyone about the incident or called the cops, they would be back, and it would not be good.

Police later tracked down Rijos and Glover and took them into custody.

According to online court records, it does not appear that Glover has been charged in connection with this incident.

Rijos remains in jail awaiting sentencing following his conviction this week on multiple charges, including three counts of second-degree murder.

Glover already faces 14 charges related to a December 2021 triple homicide at a Kirksville apartment. It is the same incident for which Rijos was convicted Wednesday by Judge Corey Moon in Adair County Circuit Court.
