Crews respond to vehicle collision near Ottumwa High School
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
Emergency first responders were called to a crash near Ottumwa High School Thursday morning.
The two-vehicle collision happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Union Street and East Second Street.
According to police, a truck was traveling east on Second Street when it failed to yield to a car, which was traveling south on Union Street.
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Two people in the truck were not injured in the crash. The driver of the truck was cited for failing to yield.
The truck received minimal damage to the front. The car received substantial damage in the passenger side.
