Downtown Kirksville Pickers Market canceled
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
A new event designed to bring visitors to Downtown Kirksville this summer has been canceled.
The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Department recently announced the decision to cancel the Pickers Market.
The event, which had been in planning for several months, would have been held the second Sunday of each month from June through September.
The idea was to allow vendors at the market to display and sell pre-1980 antiques.
The chamber says the event was modeled after a successful event in a neighboring state.
However, due to a lack of interest from antique dealers and vendors in the area, organizers decided to not move forward with the market at this time.
