Dreams of a new building came true for Heartland church

Members of Hamilton Street Baptist Church gathered on Sunday morning to dedicate their new multi-purpose building.

One Heartland church's dream exactly nine months in the making finally came true.

Worshipers of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville gathered on this Sunday morning to dedicate their new multi-purpose building .

The church's Sunday service was held in the new building to allow the audience to join in prayer as they dedicated the newest part of the church with the message that god is their builder and when they build with god anything is possible.

"There's just something in us that wants us to build. When we look at the example of God, he's a great builder and builds magnificent things. So I think it's natural that we too want to build. Particularly good and to His honor and glory which we try to do here," said Pastor Charles Jackson.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 30 of last year. Even though it has been a long process, members of the church say this is a happy day.

The new building will house pre-school classrooms and rooms to hold church social activities and events.
