Fairfield school board vote 10-17 (MGN Online)

There was a special election in the Heartland Tuesday.

Residents in Fairfield headed to the polls to elect a new school board member where four candidates were running for one seat.

The unofficial results show Jennifer Anderson won in convincing fashion with 494 votes, garnering more than 60-percent of the total votes cast.

The seat opened up when Dr. Phil Miller resigned from the board in August.

Miller won a special election to fill the Iowa House seat left open by the death of Curt Hanson.
