Fairfield woman charged with arson
FAIRFIELD, Iowa —

A Fairfield woman has been charged with a felony after starting a fire in an apartment complex.
Jessica Manchester, 32, of Fairfield, was arrested just after 12:30 p.m. on August 7 at the Fairfield Park II Apartments on Monroe Avenue.
KTVO spoke with Fairfield Chief of Police David Thomas who told us that Manchester is accused of starting a fire in a washing machine in the laundry room at the apartment complex.
The building consists of 8 apartments which were occupied at the time, and Manchester was charged with 1st degree arson of an occupied structure, a Class “B" felony.
Chief Thomas said the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
