Fire displaces Ottumwa family


    Around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Ottumwa crews were called to a report of fire in the walls of a home on Lillian Street/KTVO

    An Ottumwa family was displaced after their one-story home caught fire Tuesday afternoon.

    Around 1:30 p.m., Ottumwa crews were called to a report of fire in the walls of a home on Lillian Street. When crews arrived, smoke was showing from the roof of the house.

    Firefighters investigated, and found more smoke and flames inside.

    Fire Chief Tony Miller told KTVO everyone made it out safely, however, there is substantial smoke and heat damage from the fire.
