Malia Ollom pleaded guilty to one count of On-going Criminal Conduct and received a suspended sentence.

A former Ottumwa, Iowa, caregiver who pleaded guilty to stealing from her clients won't spend any time in jail.

In October, Malia Ollom pleaded guilty to one count of On-going Criminal Conduct.

As part of her plea agreement, Ollom received a 25-year sentence, but that sentence was suspended.

She will be on probation for five years.

Ollom is a former employee of Crest Services in Ottumwa.

Ollom’s managers noticed signs of fraudulent activity in January 2018, and she was terminated a few days later.

At the time, an audit showed thousands of dollars stolen from Crest Services clients.

Ollom will also have to make restitution.

According to a damage statement filed by prosecutors, Ollum is responsible for nearly $20,000 in obligations to Crest Services, seven Crest clients and a credit card company.
