A former northeast Missouri preacher pleaded guilty Friday to molesting an underage boy for six years.

According to the Edina Sentinel, George C. Bradburn, 69, of Queen City, Mo., entered the guilty plea to first-degree sodomy and deviant sexual intercourse with someone less than 14.

Prosecutors say the former pastor molested a boy between the years 2003 and 2008, beginning when the boy was 12 years old. After the child moved away from the area, Bradburn reportedly maintained contact with the family, often picking up the child for visits and bringing him back to Queen City where Bradburn would molest the child.

Earlier this year the case was moved from Schuyler County to Knox County after a change of judge and a change of venue.

After the proceeding, Bradburn was escorted from the courthouse in a bulletproof vest by an extra law enforcement detail.

He is scheduled to appear before Judge Russell Steele on Oct. 6 for sentencing.
