Heartland 'Back To School Splash' to be held this weekend

As your kids are preparing for the first day of school there is one last event that they might want to dive into.

The Kirksville Aquatic Center will host a 'Back To School Splash' this weekend for kids before the school year starts.

This event is sponsored by the Kirksville Kiwanis and is an opportunity for kids to swim and have fun before back to school.

The party was originally scheduled in June for the Adair County Public Library's summer reading program, but got re-scheduled due to weather conditions.

The Splash is free of charge and you do not need to preregister.

Adair County Public Library Director Jami Livingston says this is a great family and friends event.

"It's a chance to be with your friends and do a little swimming, visit and end your summer on a happy note!"

The party will be held Friday, August 11th from 10:30 to noon at the aquatic center in Kirksville.
