A Birmingham, Iowa, woman accused of starving her infant to death is set to make a court appearance this week.

According to online court records, Angel Poole, 24, has a pre-trial conference scheduled for Friday.

Poole is facing a Child Endangerment charge in the death of her son Judah.

The child weighed seven pounds and was healthy when he was born in May of 2016.

When he died in July of that year he weighed only five pounds.

Poole was formally charged in March of 2017.

She pleaded not guilty and has been free on bond since her arrest.

If the pre-trial conference proceeds as scheduled, Poole could face a jury as soon as April 24.
