Heartland residents make their very own Harry Potter wands
Kirksville, Mo. —
The Dukum Inn and Wrongdaddy's in Kirksville teamed up to create their very first Harry Potter event.
Saturday afternoon, kids and adults were able to make their own wands.
Later in the day, they had a chance to show off their creations at the Very Potter Party.
Organizer Devon Ritter says the event was all about appealing to a different group of people.
Ritter wanted to reach out to Heartland residents who wouldn't normally come to Wrongdaddy's.
"Crafting is always a lot of fun to a lot of different type of people so I feel like it appeals to a wide crowd," said Ritter.
" I love crafts and this is a good stress relief," said participate Hannah Fortner.
For a first time event, Ritter says it was a successful turnout.
