Indian Hills Community College and Western Governors University have signed an articulation agreement.

That agreement will allow IHCC graduates to seamlessly transfer to WGU and allow them continue their path towards higher education.

WGU is a private nonprofit university that offers degrees in business, IT, education and health professions at a bachelor's and master’s level.

Students will be able to take as many credits as they can at Indian Hills before transferring to the university.

According to WGU Regional Vice President Dr. Angie Besendorfer, the university offers a flexible environment for students that need to work or do not live near the university.

“The partnership that we just signed says community colleges are helping students and they’re providing quality education," said Besendorfer. "We want to partner with IHCC for the next step in continuing your life’s journey."

IHCC vice president Dr. Jill Budde says they are excited to have WGU as a partner.

"WGU offers a unique way for students to earn credits towards their bachelor’s degree or even progress towards a master’s degree," said Budde. "We already have numerous students that are students at WGU.”

WGU has reserved scholarships exclusively for community college graduates.

“With this partnership, IHCC graduates will have access to a particular pool of scholarships," said Besendorfer. "It is a $2,500 scholarship that can help a student earn their bachelor’s degree.”

Students that want to learn more about the transfer process or scholarships can read the articulation partnership agreement on the IHCC website.

If students have any further questions they can contact the admissions department at Indian Hills.
