Items not to leave in a cold car
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
When temperatures drop, there are certain items experts suggest not leaving in a cold car.
Several items are named on a list including cell phones, canned items, like beer and food, musical instruments and medication.
Companies, like Apple, warn not to leave a cell phone in the cold. Repeated exposure to frigid temperatures could cause problems to the functionality of the phone.
Once canned items freeze, they expand when they thaw, causing them to burst. This can leave a messy situation once the seal has broken.
Also, leaving medication like insulin in a car during freezing temperatures can decrease its effectiveness.
